The Story Behind Downstairs Gown
Lynne’s idea to start a bridal boutique had been a dream for many year. She took the time to raise her family and run a construction company for over 10 years with her husband, Brian. During the financial downturn, Lynne and Brian reinvented their business which Brian was able to run by himself and Lynne began working at the The University of West Georgia, where she met Amy! After 7 years at UWG, Lynne’s entrepreneurial spirit kicked in again, and she decided to open her dream business, a bridal boutique!
Amy had been toying with the idea of a bridal boutique for more than 20 years, but had always felt too intimidated to act on it. So when Lynne announced in the summer of 2016 that she wanted to open a bridal boutique, Amy was suddenly struck by the idea that this might be her only opportunity to do what she loved. After discussion with her family and at the prodding of her husband, Bill, she asked Lynne if she’d like a partner and Lynne quickly replied, “YES”. Because they had worked together for several years, and had developed a great rapport, the two ladies knew they could create a great business together.
After lots of research, meetings with former bridal boutique owners, and visits to other bridal stores, Lynne bought a building just off the Carrollton square, and the business was born! Lynne’s daughter Meredith name the new store DownTown Gowns and they loved the name! Amy and Lynne have been working hard ever since to create a unique bridal experience! Their mission is to offer an upscale experience for all price points, give each bride undivided attention and provide unparalleled customer service. This is not your average bridal salon! Amy and Lynne have created a unique environment to make everyone in the bridal party feel comfortable since they were chosen to be included in selecting the special DownTown Gown!
The salon showcases dresses from Stella York, Jasmine, Mori Lee, Christina Wu, and Venus, as well as their own private collection. They offer silhouettes to suit every bride’s taste and price point, from ball gowns to boho!
DownTown Gowns is located just off Adamson Square in Carrollton.

The Flower Cart
My life has been nothing but excitement this past year. I purchased The flower Cart and Price Florist last August 2018. I am grateful that Carroll County embraced the changeover and merger of both stores. I am a proud graduate of Mississippi State University (Hail State!) with a degree in Food Science Health Promotion and Nutrition and minors in Business Administration and Floral Design. I never thought I would have the opportunity to pursue both my minors! In addition, I have the best team behind me of family and co-workers helping my dream come true. I am very excited to be back in my home city and able to help Carroll County with all their floral needs. There are few new changes to the store, so please stop by anytime at 488 Bankhead Hwy or give us a call at 770- 834- 0932.

Julia Thornton Wilson Artist
I've been creative most of my life, seeking joy in creating something that didn't exist before. During the past few years, I have honed in on painting, working primarily in acrylics and mixed media. My goal is to offer a bit of happiness or introspection to the viewer, hopefully making the world a little better one painting at a time. This is my third year to participate in the Circles Designer Show House and I am honored to be affiliated with such a worthy cause.
